MIAMI GARDENS, FLA- The Thomas University Women's Soccer team finished their road trip to Miami Gardens with a contest against RV St.Thomas University on Saturday morning. Despite the tie, one Night Hawk was able to notch a career and season high.
The Bobcats (6-6-3, 2,3-2) came on the pitch looking for a quick answer by taking several shots within the first 9 minutes of play. Senior Emily Lamoreaux was a brick wall for Thomas University (8-3-4,3-1-3) Additionally, both sides continued to fire shots in hopes of a deal breaker before time expired in the first half.
Entering in the second half, Thomas tried to find a way around the Bobcats' defense but could not come up with a solid answer with only taking one shot for the entire second half. St.Thomas University continued to look for an advantage on the pitch offensively, but Lamoreaux's impressive play in the net was too much for the Blue and White to handle.
The Lake City, Fla native was able to boast a new career and season high of fifteen saves, splitting seven of those in the first half.
Overall, STU ended with twenty-three shots with fifteen on goal and eight corner kicks. Thomas finished the match with three shots and one on goal. TU also had fifteen saves and three corner kicks.
WHAT'S NEXT: Thomas will have a few days to regroup for their next match up against #10 Southeastern University. Kick off is set for 3pm in the Rose City.
