Battle Of The Hawks: Thomas Falls Short Against SeaHawks

THOMASVILLE, GA- The Thomas University Men's Soccer team had a very competitive and hard fought battle against #6 Keiser University, but fell short against the SeaHawks on Saturday afternoon.

The Night Hawks (4-5-2, 1-2-1) held the SeaHawks to a scoreless game the entire first half, which helped the Green and White gain momentum throughout the contest. Keiser (8-0-2, 5-0-0) has scored on their last four opponents in the first half, but Thomas took advantage of their defense.

In the second half, Keiser took advantage of the missed opportunities that the Night Hawks could not capitalize on, as Ian Garnero secured the first and lone goal of the game in the 53rd minute to build the morale for Kesier. Thomas eventually had several chances to find the back of the net with multiple header sequences from the Green and White's offense but the SeaHawks defense put up a battle late in the match.

In total, The SeaHawks concluded the day with a total of six shots with four on goal and a total of six corner kicks. Keiser also rallied a total of nine saves. Thomas University was able to control the shots (14) with nine on goal and three saves. The Night Hawks also finished the day with nine corner kicks.

WHAT'S NEXT:  The Green and White will have a few days to recover for their next SUN conference matchup on Tuesday against Ave Maria. Kick off is set for 10am in the Rose City.
