Thomas Picks Up First SUN Win

SAVANNAH, GA-  The Thomas University Men's Soccer team saw strides in the right direction for their SUN Conference play journey as the Green and White picked up their first conference win of the season against the Bees of SCAD-Savannah Wednesday evening.

The Night Hawks (5-4-2, 1-1-1) got off to a slow start in the first half until a goal in the 31st minute by Graduate Student Cavan Daley notched the first goal of the game with a brilliant header off a corner kick by Graduate Student Joao Pedro Vinha

In the second half, SCAD-Savannah (3-9-0,1-4-0) had several opportunities to find their way into the back of the net but Thomas' defense was too much for the Bees to connect with. The Green and White's keeper, Jorge Gonzalez played a tremendous role in the Night Hawks defense as he was able to take advantage of the opportunities that SCAD tried to manage.

In total, SCAD Savannah concluded the night a total of eight shots with just two on goal and a total of 2 corner kicks. The Yellow and White had three saves. Thomas University was able to dominate shots on goal (4) and rallied up a total of 2 saves. The Night Hawks also finished the night with 7 corner kicks.

GAME SHIFTER: As both sides tried to find a breakthrough point, several stoppage of time were called throughout the game.

WHAT'S NEXT:  The Night Hawks will have just a few days to rest and recover for their next SUN Conference matchup on their home pitch against Keiser University. Kick off is set for 12pm on Saturday.
