THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The Thomas University Men's Soccer team is set to travel to Montgomery, Ala. to face off against non conference foe Faulkner University Wednesday, September 1st.
Thomas (1-0) enters Wednesday's match more than a week removed from action after inclement weather saw August 29th's Spring Hill College contest postponed.
Despite the time off, Thomas looks to continue its stellar play, which saw the Night Hawks outclass their last opponent, Brewton-Parker College, on August, 21st.
Though the scoresheet does not truly reflect the domination, the offensive firepower for Thomas eventually led to Sophomore Hudson Cougill's go ahead goal in the 80th minute. In the end, the Night Hawks outlasted the Barons 2-1.
Faulkner University's Men's soccer program is under new leadership as Gabriel de Queiroz has been named the new head coach, removing the interim title after a successful run at the helm last Spring. The Eagles finished as a semifinalist in the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament, its first postseason appearance since 2017.
Despite the promising run earlier this Spring, the Eagles enter Wednesday's contest 0-2 fresh off a tough 4-1 defeat against Life University.
In the contest against Life, the Eagles struggled to find the back of the net firing eight shots in the contest. Faulkner's lone goal came in the 79th minute as Redshirt Junior Jonathon Boane found the back of net for his first collegiate goal.
Kickoff against Faulkner at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium is set for 5 p.m.
