RV Night Hawks Fly Past Falcons

Angelo Pontello | Sports Information Director | @apontello44

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – A whole week of practice paid off for the Receiving Votes (RV) Thomas University Women's soccer team, as the Hunter Green & White prevailed over the Florida College Falcons 4-1 Saturday evening at TU Soccer Complex.

RV Thomas (5-4-1) had complete control of the match from start to finish, outshooting Florida College (1-13, 0-5 SSAC) 24-4.  Goalkeepers Emily Lamoreaux and Jordin Sanchez each saw a half in net.

The Night Hawks got on the board first (1-0) in the ninth minute when Sophomore Jana Pastorek delivered a textbook crosser to Sophomore Analeice Wilkes for the finish.

FC's chances came at a premium against TU's defense.  The Falcons saw its first chance in the 25th minute when Ariel Navarette sent a breakaway pass to an open Michaela Nicholson, who beat the defense and fired a shot that bounced off Lamoreaux and into the net for the equalizing goal (1-1).

A minute and change later, Sophomore Hadas Prawer's corner kick turned into a brilliant bender that past FC Keeper Victoria Fullagar and into the net for what would be Prawer's second career game-winning goal to put the Night Hawks up 2-1.

Moments later, the Hunter Green & White forced a foul in the goalkeeper box, setting up a penalty kick for Senior Taylor Hults to potentially take a 3-1 lead, but the St. Johns, Fla. native's shot went right and was saved by Fullagar.

Sophomore Ayla Aiduck would ensure Thomas a 3-1 lead in the 34th minute, as the Orlando, Fla. native buried a rebound from a shot by Freshman Kayley Smith.  The goal was Aiduck's first in nearly a month.

The final goal for TU came in the 67th minute when Hults passed to Junior Jonna Wittwer, who found Aiduck via cross to extend the Night Hawks' lead to three goals (4-1).
