THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's soccer is on the rebound, as the Night Hawks are in search of its first win of the Spring 2021 season, hosting Georgia Gwinnett and Dalton State Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
TU (0-1) saw five shots against a formidable Southeastern University opponent last time out, with two coming from Freshman
Hudson Cougill, while Sophomore
Sam Greaves and Seniors
Nicola Monelli and
Mateo Arbelaez have one shot apiece. Freshman Keeper
Miha Kristovic recorded six saves and a 75% save percentage in his intercollegiate debut last time on the pitch.
The last two meetings against Georgia Gwinnett have ended in defeat for the Night Hawks (1-0 defeat in 2017 and 3-0 setback last season). The Grizzlies return Krishna Clarke, who finished 2019 with six goals and three assists. Goalkeeper Matija Gligorovic will look to build off a 1.54 Goals Allowed Average last season.
Dalton State (4-0-1) will provide Thomas with a challenge entering Saturday's contest. The Roadrunners are led by Justin Riescher, responsible for eight (8) of the team's 15 goals this season along with 13 shots on goal. Thomas will look forward to the challenge of scoring on DS Keeper Aaron Fraire who currently holds a 0.71 GAA on the season.
