THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Women's Soccer team kept the contest under control in the first half but could not overcome a second half that saw #10 Southeastern score three goals in a six-minute span as the Night Hawks ultimately fell 4-0 Saturday afternoon at TU Soccer Complex.
Thomas (5-6, 0-3 SUN) limited the Fire (7-3, 1-2 SUN) to six shots with one shot on goal in the first half, but allowed eight shots that all landed on target. The Night Hawks finished the day with seven shots with two on goal.
Sophomore Goalkeeper Trinity Chastain saw 14 total shots and recorded five saves.
The Green & White saw a legitimate chance for a score in the 20th minute when Junior
Analeice Wilkes broke up an erred pass from the Southeastern defense en route to a breakaway opportunity that was saved by Fire Goalkeeper Holly Eddins.
"We had our opportunities and we didn't capitalize; unfortunately, they (SEU) did on theirs," said Head Coach
Julie Orlowski. "other than that five-six minute span, it was an exciting, great competitive soccer game where we proved we can go toe-toe with anybody."
The Night Hawks remain at home for its next contest, hosting Florida Memorial Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
