The Thomas University Men's soccer team will play its final game of the 2021 season, as the Night Hawks make a trip down to Lakeland, Fla. for a contest against the Fire from Southeastern.
Thomas (5-8-1, 1-5-1 SUN) enters the contest fresh off an impressive win against Florida Memorial last Saturday, where the Night Hawks scored three goals while only conceding one.
The offensive display was overdue, as, entering that matchup, TU had scored just one goal while allowing 12 in their last four contests. Seniors Diego Azar and Cavan Daley both scored in the Senior day contest, while Junior midfielder Samuel Greaves shined picking up an assist and a goal in the win.
RV Southeastern (9-3-4, 3-2-2 SUN) has previously clinched its playoff spot, but the Fire will look to improve their four-game lossless streak, which saw the team tie both RV Florida National and #4 Keiser University while beating SUN Conference opponents SCAD-Savannah and Ave Maria University.
Most recently, the Fire narrowly defeated the Gyrenes 3-2, after a goal in the 75' minute provided Southeastern the lead.
Offensively, the team averages 2.44 goals per contest, shooting an average of 16.6 shots per game. SEU's attack is led by Julian Hall (10 g, 2 a), Eduardo Venutolo (7 g, 4 a), and Colin Horn (4 g, 3 a), in net, two keepers have played substantial minutes, with Carlos Curado and Jonathan Wojciki splitting minutes in their Senior seasons.
Overall, the Night Hawks hold a 7-4 series lead against Southeastern, winning two of the last four contests.
