THOMASVILLE, GA — After offensive woes saw the Thomas University Men's soccer team lose its weekday contest against SCAD, the Night Hawks hit the road again this weekend to play #4 Keiser University in a SUN Conference showdown.
Thomas (4-6-1, 0-4-1 SUN) travels to Keiser still in search of its first SUN Conference win after the team's most recent match against SCAD-Savannah ended in a 3-0 loss. TU shot 13 times in the contest but struggled to find the frame as the Bees' keeper was only forced to make three saves.
The offensive struggles have been detrimental in the Night Hawks' last five matches, as the team has only scored three goals in the net during that span. On the other side of the ball, Freshman goalkeeper Stephen Douglas has earned the starting nod in goal over the last two weeks, registering 3.5 saves per contest.
The Seahawks (8-1, 4-0 SUN) started the season looking unbeatable, winning seven straight contests before falling to Florida National University on October 6th. After the small hiccup, the Seahawks have once again found its stride in Conference play, picking up wins against Ave Maria and Florida Memorial in their last two contests. Keiser convincingly won those matchups 4-1 and 7-1, respectively.
In the Conference, Keiser has outscored opponents 16-2 while averaging more than 25 shots per match. On the defensive side of the ball, the backline has held opponents to less than eight chances per contest while limiting opponent on goal opportunities to less than three.
In an overall head-to-head, Thomas holds a 4-2-4 advantage against Keiser, with the last three matchups against the Seahawks falling in favor of the Night Hawks. The last matchup between the two was in October of 2019 and saw TU win 1-0.
Kickoff at Arrigo-Vecellio Field is set for 11 AM. Fans can follow along with the contest by accessing the links below.
