THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Women's basketball team took the court once again with just one sub against The Sun Conference's favorite team, but the Lady Night Hawks could not overcome a lopsided first period that ultimately lead to a 68-47 loss at the hands of #7 Southeastern Tuesday evening.
TU (0-5, 0-5 TSC) struggled to generate offense in the first period, as SEU (6-2, 5-0 TSC) outscored the Hunter Green & White 23-4. Thomas quickly rebounded, scoring at least 11 or more points in the remaining periods. TU shot 37.5 from the field, including 47.5% from inside the arc.
Senior Forward
Destiny Reed led TU in scoring with 14 points, while both Sophomore Guard
Emiah Downie and Senior Guard
Alisha Clayton tallied 11 points each.

1st Period (SEU 23, TU 4)
- - Senior Guard Alexis Powell and Senior Forward Destiny Reed scored TU's only baskets of the quarter
- - TU shot 2-for-8 from the field, while the Fire shot just under 53%
2nd Period (SEU 42, TU 18)
- -The Lady Night Hawks were able to subdue the Fire's 3-Pt. attack, limiting SEU to 1-for-5 (20%) long-range
- -Thomas shot 40% from the field and 50% inside the arc
3rd Period (SEU 55, TU 36)
- -The Lady Night began the quarter with a 10-0 scoring run that lasted nearly four minutes
- -Thomas outscored the Fire 18-13
- -TU forced five turnovers in the quarter
- -The Hunter Green & White capitalized on nine of its 16 shots (56.3%) of the quarter inside the arc
4th Period (SEU 68, TU 47)
- -Thomas converted both of its Good 3-Ptrs, one drained by Emiah Downie and the other by Senior Guard Alexis Powell
- -SEU barely outscored TU in the quarter 13-11
