Wilde’s Two RBI Lead TU to Victory

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Redshirt freshman second baseman Hannah Wilde connected on a single to center and a solo home run to lead Thomas University to the 2-0 victory in game two against RV Webber International University Wednesday at Armory Field. 

Thomas (11-13, 5-3) lost the first game, 1-0, to league-leading WIU (16-8, 5-1). 

The Night Hawks hit the road for their next three Sun Conference doubleheaders, first facing No. 13 University of South Carolina Beaufort March 23, then College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Ga., March 27 and Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla., March 30. 

Game One
Webber International scored one run in the third off a single through the left side, to earn the Sun Conference win. Thomas was outhit 6-3 and made a pair of fielding errors. 

Catcher Raelye Rouw, leftfielder Gaby Mora and right fielder Izzy Ekstam recorded TU's hits. 

Pitcher Sheala Brown (3-4) tallied three strikeouts and allowed just one run from six hits in her 7.0 inning complete game start. 

Game Two
Wilde singled to center field in the fourth to drive in shortstop Holly Campbell for TU's first run. Then in the sixth, Wilde tagged a two-out solo home run to put the Night Hawks up, 2-0, for good. The homer was Wilde's third of the season and second in the past five games. 

Pitcher Rebecca Boesen earned her fifth win of the season by shutting out WIU, allowing just five hits and striking out two batters.
