THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Junior
Jarrett Fowler hit a walkoff solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to push the Thomas University baseball team past No. 24 Keiser, 8-7, Saturday afternoon at Varnedoe Stadium.
Fowler was the first batter up for TU in the bottom of the 10th, and he rocketed a shot over the wall to give Thomas the win. Fowler entered the game in the bottom of the seventh as a pinch runner, then took the infield at shortstop the remainder of the game.
Keiser plated one in the first frame, but Thomas answered with six in the bottom half of the inning. Keiser battled back with two in the second and one in the third, before TU added one in the fifth. The Seahawks tied the game in the eighth with three runs, then the Night Hawks held Keiser scoreless in the top of the ninth, stranding three on base.
Thomas used three pitchers to Keiser's six in the game. Jorge Moran started, striking out two and allowing four runs, two earned, from seven hits.
Logan Hollyman came in for 0.2 innings of relief, giving up three runs from a pair of hits. Then
Hassan Westbrook picked up the win, striking out one and allowing three hits, but not giving up any runs in 2.1 innings.

Jake Webb collected three hits and recorded two RBI for TU. Infielders
Chase Hinson,
Jake Bryan and
Luis Martinez each tagged a pair of hits and scored a run each. Martinez also drew two walks.
Thomas (2-7) next hosts Trinity Baptist College in a doubleheader Feb. 19 at Varnedoe Stadium. First pitch of game one is at 4 p.m., immediately followed by game two.
