THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University women's basketball team defeated Trinity Baptist College, 71-44, Tuesday night at the TU Gymnasium, for the Night Hawks' first victory of the season.
Alisha Clayton put up a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds, along with three steals and two assists.
Destiny Reed led all scorers with 17 points, and
Alexis Powell hit four 3-pointers on her way to 16 points.
Ashley Bostick dished out seven assists in TU's first victory of the season. Â
The Night Hawks took the first quarter 19-10, then led  34-19 at the half. Thomas outscored TBC 37-15 in the second half to earn the win. TU also outscored TBC 36-10 in the paint.
TU's defense held Trinity Baptist to just 24.6 percent (14-57) shooting from the field and 18.2 percent (4-22) from three.
The Night Hawks next travel to Valdosta, Ga., to play an exhibition game at Valdosta State Dec. 19.
