VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Thomas University women's basketball team lost, 86-43, to Valdosta State University in exhibition action Thursday night at The Complex.
The Night Hawks (1-7) fell behind, 22-14, after the first quarter and couldn't catch up to Valdosta State (9-2), an NCAA Division II school.
Thomas was a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line, with
Jewel Montisano hitting all three of her attempts.
Alexis Powell led TU offensively with 13 points, hitting a pair of 3-pointers.
Samantha Gilbert also drained two from long range on her way to 10 points, and added five rebounds.
Alisha Clayton grabbed 10 rebounds and had a pair of assists for TU.
Thomas returns to the TU Gymnasium Jan. 4 to face Carver (Ga.) College at 2 p.m. The Night Hawks lost, 65-61 to Carver on Nov. 12 in Atlanta, Ga.
