THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University women's basketball team took St. Thomas University, which is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, to overtime, ultimately falling, 74-70 Thursday night at the TU Gymnasium.
Micah Garvin recorded her third double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds, added to four blocks and a pair of steals.
Alisha Clayton pulled down 13 rebounds, her season high, while
Pkacia Johnson dished out five assists and netted 10 points.
After falling behind, 15-14, following the first quarter, Thomas led, 32-31, at the break. The Night Hawks took a six-point lead heading into the final period, then allowed the Bobcats to tie the game at the end of regulation. STU finished the game outscoring TU 12-8 to earn the win.
Thomas falls to 7-16 overall and 4-8 in the league, while second-ranked St. Thomas improves to 17-5, 9-2.
Thomas continues its four-game homestand Jan. 26, facing Florida Memorial University at 2 p.m. at the TU Gymnasium.
