THOMASVILLE, Ga. – A pair of Thomas University freshmen each scored two goals in the Night Hawks' 4-2 victory over Point (Ga.) University Wednesday in the women's soccer home opener.
"The team came out and really demonstrated what they learned after our weekend matches," Head Coach
Julie Orlowski said. "Tactically, they really played well and found the proper spaces to exploit. Our depth really shined and wore our their back line."
Rookies
Selma Brorsson and
Jahzyiah Samuels-Williams each netted a pair of goals in their first match at the TU Soccer Complex, which was also TU's first win of the season.
"Overall, we had very good team effort today, and to have two freshmen get two goals each is a sign of very good things to come," Orlowski added.
TU improved to 1-1-1 on the season while Point dropped to 2-3.
Thomas outshot Point, 24-13, including 11-7 on goal, and TU took nine corners, to Point's one.
