THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's soccer team defeated Webber International, 1-0, to stay perfect in Sun Conference action Wednesday afternoon at the TU Soccer Complex.
Thomas improved to 3-3-1 overall and 2-0 in TSC after outshooting the Warriors 20-3 overall and 10-0 on goal.
Junior
Jack Chambers netted Thomas' lone goal in the 46th minute. Chambers attempted three shots, with two on goal for the Night Hawks. Junior
Gavin Rochford-Smith attempted seven goals, three on goal, while juniors
Mark Lescher and
Rene Rivera each took two shots with one on frame.
In the first period, Thomas outshot Webber 12-2, as the Night Hawks attempted six shots, three on goal, in the first 21 minutes.
After a scoreless first half, Chambers scored his unassisted goal just a minute and a half into the second period. TU went on to attempt seven more shots in the half, with four shots between the 75th and 85th minutes.
Thomas next travels to Miami Gardens, Fla., to face St. Thomas on Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. The Night Hawks return home to play Keiser Oct. 6 at noon at the TU Soccer Complex.
