THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's soccer team scored a golden goal in the 103rd minute to defeat Keiser University, 1-0, and advance to the Sun Conference Tournament Finals.
The Night Hawks (9-4-2) will face Southeastern University (11-3-2) Friday, Nov. 9 at noon in the TSC Finals at the TU Soccer Complex. Both teams are receiving votes in the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll released Nov. 6.
In a match originally scheduled for Tuesday, but postponed due to lightning, Thomas'
Jack Chambers scored the golden goal in the 103rd minute to give the Night Hawks the win.
Ian Ward crossed a ball into the box, and Chambers put the game-winning header into the bottom left of the net to earn the win.
Thomas outshot Keiser 15-14 overall and 7-4 on goal. The Night Hawk defense didn't allow the Seahawks a shot in either overtime.
