AVE MARIA, Fla. - Thomas remained unbeaten in six The Sun Conference (TSC) openers following a scoreless draw after two overtimes at Ave Maria (Fla.) on Saturday afternoon at AMU Soccer Field. The Night Hawks are 5-0-1 all-time in league openers and against the Gyrenes.
Thomas (2-4-1, 0-0-1 TSC), which has not allowed a goal in four games at AMU Soccer Field, outshot Ave Maria (1-4-2, 0-1-1 TSC) 20-7, including 17-5 in the first 90 minutes. The Gyrenes did not record a shot in the second half.
The Night Hawks had 11 shots on goal, with five coming from
Gavin Rochford-Smith, a career-high.
Leo Thompson tallied two shots on goal.
Kensley Jean Baptiste recorded two shots on goal for the home team.
