Night Hawks Fall Short Against Point

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University baseball team fell to Point University (Ga.), 9-7, on Tuesday at Varnedoe Stadium. TU tied the game at 7-7 with seven runs in the fourth inning.

The Night Hawks fell to 10-13 on the season, while the Skyhawks improved to 12-8 on the year. TU travels to the 2017 Warner Invitational on Thursday beginning with Spring Arbor University (Mich.) at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Jalbert Melo went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, while Tanner Elsbernd hit 1-for-3 with an RBI. Blake Summers and Tanner Long both went 1-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI.

TU had eight players pitch in the game, while Austin Lieupo picked up the loss with two runs on three hits and struck out one.
