Night Hawks Split With Ave Maria

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University softball team split games with Ave Maria University (Fla.) on Friday at Armory Field. Victoria Camina hit a walk off single that gave TU the 3-2 win in the first game, while AMU took a 6-5 win in the second game.

The Night Hawks improved to 24-6, 4-1 in The Sun Conference, while the Gyrenes went to 16-8, 3-2 in TSC. The two teams complete a three game series at noon on Saturday at Armory Field.

GAME ONE
 
Brittany Daniels hit a home run in the sixth inning to tie the game before Camina singled up the middle and scored Trinity Strickland in the bottom of the seventh.
 
Daniels went 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI, while Gaby Mora went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
 
Lauren West threw the complete game with two runs on eight hits and struck out two, improving to 11-1 on the season.

Kaitlyn Stoltz went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, while Kaylee Smith hit 1-for-2 with a run scored. Daniels went 1-for-3 with two RBI's.
 
Jessica Reid suffered the loss on 5.1 innings pitched with six runs, five earned, on seven hits and struck out one.
