Night Hawks Knock off Milligan 9-5

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University baseball team pulled off a 9-5 win over Milligan College (Tenn.) Friday at Varnedoe Stadium.

The Night Hawks went to 3-3 on the season, while the Buffaloes fell in their season opener. The two teams wrap up a three-game series on Saturday at noon at Varnedoe Stadium.

Levi Hollingsworth went 4-for-4 on the night with four RBI's, while Logan Place went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Tanner Long hit 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Jalbert Melo went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

TU scored eight runs in the first four innings, including a five-run fourth inning.

Jordan Martin picked up his first win of the season and went to 1-1 on six innings pitched with two runs on five hits and struck out eight. Ryan Pierce threw the ninth inning and did not allow a run on one hit.
