Night Hawks Sweep Brewton-Parker

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The Thomas University softball team took two games from Brewton-Parker, 4-1 and 8-1, on Tuesday. TU combined for 20 hits in the two games and had a clean sheet in the error category.

The Night Hawks improved to 11-3 on the season, while the Barons went to 4-6 on the year. TU returns home to face Edward Waters (Fla.) on March 1 in a double header starting at 1 p.m. at Armory Field.

Kaitlyn Stoltz led the charge for the Night Hawks and went 5-for-6 with four RBIs and three runs scored on the day in the leadoff spot.

GAME ONE

The Night Hawks plated all four of their runs in the fifth inning to collect the victory.

Stoltz went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Kelsey Connolly hit 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Lauren West pitched the complete game, seven innings, with one run on five hits and struck out a career-high nine to improve to 6-0 on the season.

TU scored runs in four of the seven innings and only allowed the only run in the first inning.
 
Stoltz hit 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Weiss went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Connolly went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Daniels hit 2-for-4 with an RBI.
 
Jessica Reid threw five innings, allowed one run on four hits and struck out two, while Luana Imamura pitched the last two, allowed no runs and no hits.
