Keiser Tops TU on Saturday

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Thomas University women's basketball team fell to Keiser University (Fla.), 65-56, on Saturday.

The Night Hawks fell to 5-9, 2-4 in The Sun Conference, while the Seahawks improved 11-6, 4-1 in TSC. TU returns home to face Webber International (Fla.), 8 p.m. Thursday at the TU Gymnasium.

Kriza Allen led the Night Hawks with 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Arianna Anderson added 15 points and led the team with five steals.

TU held a 9-5 lead to start the game before Keiser went on a 9-0 and took a 14-9 lead. Dymon Brown converted a free throw and brought TU within two at 17-15. The Seahawks held a 19-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Keiser opened the second quarter on a 7-2 run and extended the lead to 26-18. Kriza Allen knocked down a free throw and brought the Night Hawks within five at 26-21. Kaylee Patton converted two free throws and put Keiser up 34-25. The Seahawks held a 34-30 lead at halftime.

Keiser started the third quarter on a 7-0 run and extended the lead to 41-30. Claudia Reque made two free throws and gave the Seahawks a 50-34 lead. Keiser held a 52-38 lead into the final quarter.

The Seahawks went on a 6-0 run and opened up a 58-40 lead in the fourth quarter. The Night Hawks went on a 10-0 run and slimmed the lead to 61-54. Keiser closed the game with four free throws.
TU forced 26 turnovers in the game.
