Keiser Holds Off Night Hawks

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University women's basketball team fell to Keiser University (Fla.), 65-58, on Saturday at the TU Gymnasium.

The Night Hawks fell to 7-12, 4-7 in The Sun Conference, while the Seahawks improved to 14-9, 7-4 in TSC. The Night Hawks travel to Southeastern 6 p.m. Thursday in Lakeland, Fla.

Micah Garvin led the Night Hawks with 15 points and added four rebounds, while Samantha Gilbert led the team with six rebounds and added seven points.

The Night Hawks went on a 6-0 in the first quarter and took an 11-5 lead, their largest of the game. Keiser ended the first period on a 5-2 run, while the Night Hawks held a 13-10 lead.

The Seahawks went on an 11-0 run and took a 23-17 lead in the second period. De'Audra Copeland ended the period with a layup, while KU led 27-23 at halftime.

Keiser started the third period on a 10-1 run and extended the lead to 37-24. Garvin ended the third quarter with a made jumper, while Keiser led 43-37.

The Night Hawks went on a 7-0 run in the fourth quarter and cut the Seahawks lead to one at 51-50. KU responded with a 5-0 run and extended the lead to 59-51. Keiser ended the game with six free throws.
