TU Falls Short against Coastal Georgia

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Thomas University women's basketball team fell to Coastal Georgia, 72-61, on Saturday night at Coffin Gymnasium.

The Night Hawks went to 4-5 on the season, while the Mariners went to 4-6 on the year. TU plays their last home game of the 2016 year against Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) December 13 at 6 p.m. inside the TU Gymnasium.

Micah Garvin and J'Nyiah Daniels led the Night Hawks with 12 points each, while De'Audra Copeland pulled down eight rebounds.

Garvin sank a jumper and gave TU a 12-11 lead after the first quarter.

Coastal Georgia went on a 7-0 run and held a 24-16 lead in the second quarter. The Night Hawks closed the first half on a 5-2 run and trailed 28-26 at the half.

The Mariners ended the third quarter on a 6-0 run and held a 46-44 led at the end of the period.

Coastal Georgia went on a 14-2 run in the fourth quarter and jumped out to a 65-54 lead. The Mariners closed the game on a 6-2 run.
