Box Score Thomas University's Men's Soccer (9-1-2) (TSC 4-1) fall in a double OT heartbreaker to the Florida Memorial University – Lions (6-4) (TSC 3-1) 3-2.
Sophomore
Severin Abt (1G) led the Night Hawks to a 1-0 lead as he drilled in a goal from an assist by Sophomore
Eric Persson (1A) just twenty-five minutes into the game. FMU wouldn't allow for the lead to stand very long as they sent home a goal of their own just five minutes later, knotting the game at 1. The remainder of the first half proved to be a battle of the offenses as neither team would score again.
The Lions took a 2-1 lead over Thomas with just a minute and a half remaining on the clock in regulation play, making it seem as though the game was over. The Night Hawks proved that the game was far from over as Freshman
Jonathon McGrath (1G) scored on an assisted ball off the foot of Junior
Lyle Gifford (1A) with just thirty-seconds remaining in the match.
The first overtime was again a battle of defenses as neither team backed down and held each other scoreless. During the second OT, FMU was able to send home their third and final goal on the night, deeming them victorious over No.1 Thomas University.
"We battled through a tough fight out there today. We made a few mistakes that we will work on and make adjustments to," said TU Head Men's Soccer Coach,
Ricky Zambrano. "It's never fun to lose, but we now need to shift our focus to our next match as we continue our conference play."

th at the Thomas University Soccer complex.
