Thomas University Athletics

Averie Sheppard is the Sports Information Assistant at Thomas University. Sheppard is a former Night Hawk student athlete and was a four-year starter for the softball team. Sheppard graduated with a degree in sport and exercise science in May 2024 from TU and earned her MBA in December 2025.Throughout her tenure at Thomas University, Sheppard has contributed to the community through extensive service hours and served as a student assistant in the sports information department for three years as an undergraduate and served as a sports information graduate assistant for the 2024-2025 school year. Sheppard currently works full-time in the University's admissions department as an Admissions Representative. 

 Sheppard has consistently demonstrated excellence on the field with two SUN Conference All-Conference team honors, two SUN Conference Softball Player of the Week titles, one SSAC All-Conference team honor, and a Golden Glove accolade. In her junior and senior seasons, Sheppard led the Night Hawks in various categories, including batting average, hits, runs, triples, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, and stolen bases.

As a student athlete Sheppard excelled academically highlighted by her consistent inclusion on the President's or Dean's List in every completed semester at Thomas University as an undergrad earning all academic awards every year. Sheppard also is a member of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society.
