Twyla Peoples

Twyla Peoples enters her first season as an athletic assistant women’s basketball coach with Thomas University in 2017-18 and second season overall with the program after serving as a volunteer assistant coach in 2016-17.

Peoples has over eight years of coaching experience. She has been serving as a private basketball coach for Peoples Personal Coaching, LLC where she is currently a five-star rated coach on CoachUp.com by client reviews.  

Peoples has served as an assistant coach for the West Gadsden (Fla.) High School and head coach at Crossroad Academy Charter School (Fla.). 

Peoples has also worked with Florida State women’s basketball youth camps.

Peoples obtained professional coaching mentorship through Off the Bench Consulting led by coach and CEO Franque Q Bedell. Additionally, she served five years as a physical education teacher. Peoples is certified by the State of Florida Education Department in physical education and athletic coaching. She is also certified as a USA Basketball Gold Licensed Coach.  

Peoples played two seasons as a guard at Barber Scotia College (N.C.).

The Quincy, Fla. native earned a Bachelor of Science in sports management with a minor in communication and a coaching specialization from Florida State University in 2007. Peoples is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from Thomas.
