Myron Brown enters his fifth season as Thomas University's head women's basketball coach in 2021-22.
In his first season at TU, Brown coached the Night Hawks to an appearance in the Sun Conference Tournament. He mentored Kriza Allen, a second team all-conference selection who averaged 12.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.0 steals in 30.0 minutes per game. In conference games only, Allen was ranked in points per game (17th), rebounds (19th), steals (9th), offensive rebounds (t-12th), assists (15th) and double doubles (t-16th).
Prior to Thomas, Brown served as interim head women's basketball coach for The Sun Conference rival St. Thomas (Fla.) at the end of 2016-17.
Brown assumed the interim responsibilities at St. Thomas on Feb. 1, 2017. His impact was immediate, helping lead the Bobcats to The Sun Conference Tournament championship game. One Bobcat was named to the All-Sun Conference first team, while two were voted to the second team. St. Thomas, which finished 15-15 overall, including 9-7 in league play, ranked in the top 25 nationally in steals per game and turnover margin.
Brown served the 2013-14 campaign as associate head men's basketball coach with the Bobcats, helping lead St. Thomas to a 26-7 overall record, including a 16-2 mark in The Sun Conference and 4-1 record against NCAA Division II opponents. The Bobcats won the league title and advanced to the NAIA Division II National Championship second round. Three Bobcats were named to the All-Sun Conference first team, and two were voted NAIA All-Americans.
Brown also served as an assistant men's basketball coach at Rochester (Mich.) for two seasons (2009-11). He was promoted from assistant to interim head men's basketball coach at Madonna (Mich.) on Feb. 3, 2009, for the duration of that season (2008-09).
Brown is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Athletes in Action (AIA).
As a player, Brown was a starter as a senior and four-year letter winner at Rochester.
Brown earned a bachelor’s of science in English from Rochester in 1999 and a master’s of arts in secondary education from the University of Phoenix in 2007.
A native of Detroit, Mich., Brown attended Evangel Christian Academy. Myron and his wife, Antoinette, have two daughters, Bry and Mya, and one son, Myron Jr.
