Joe McDowell enters his third season as the Head Coach of the Night Hawks Men's soccer team in 2022-23.
Originally from Wickford, Essex, in the United Kingdom, McDowell lived in Spain briefly before moving to Bradenton, Fla., to attend IMG Academy for his high school years.
McDowell then came to Thomasville, was a four-year starter for the Night Hawks from 2010-2014. In 2013 he earned Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors, and helped Thomas to its first Sun Conference Championship. He graduated from TU in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in business management and administration.
For the next four years, McDowell coached soccer teams of all ages with FC Sarasota. After returning to Thomasville in 2018, he has served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Night Hawks men's soccer team.
McDowell and his wife, Leslie, live just outside of Thomasville with their 4-year-old daughter.
