Andy Wolfrum serves as the Defensive Coordinator for Thomas University's military transition football program.
Coach Wolfrum recently completed eight years as head coach of the United States Military Academy Prep football team. The Army veteran compiled a 47-13 overall record at USMAPS, including 5-2 slates against Air Force Prep and Navy Prep. Wolfrum guided his team to the first-ever Service Academy Prep Commander-in-Chief's championship title in 2017. In addition to head coaching duties, Wolfrum was responsible for running Special Teams.
Prior to USMAPS, Wolfrum managed Defensive Quality Control at Army West Point and the University of Louisville. At Louisville, Wolfrum spent three years working for Head Coach Charlie Strong and the Cardinal defense as the quality control coach. At both institutions, Wolfrum gained a wealth of experience in film breakdown and scouting reports. Previous to his respective DQC positions, Wolfrum served as a Defensive Graduate Assistant coach at the University of Akron, managing Defensive and Special Teams' quality controls for the Zips. Previous to Akron, Wolfrum worked one spring with West Chester State University in Pennsylvania.
Wolfrum comes from a football family; his father is the head coach at Wyomissing Area High School in Pennsylvania, and his Grandfather was a head coach in the Philadelphia area at George Washington High School. Coach Wolfrum served in the Army for over six years as an armor and civil affairs officer. He was a tank platoon leader and scout platoon leader for 2-37 Armored Battalion of 1st BDE, 1st Armored Division, and later deployed with that unit in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in May of 2003. Wolfrum was deployed to Iraq in 2007 as a civil affairs team leader as a member of the 415th Civil Affairs Battalion.
The Reading, Pa. native graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor's in Economics and obtained his MS in Sports Science & Coaching at the University of Akron.
Wolfrum resides in Thomasville, Ga. with his wife, Shannon, and their two sons, Robert (8) and Riley (6).
