THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The Night Hawks faced a challenging weekend at Armory Field, falling to Blue Mountain Christian (MS) in both contests.
Game 1: Thomas 3, BMCU 12 (5 Innings)
In the first game, Thomas fought hard against a strong Blue Mountain Christian team, which amassed 17 hits. Blue Mountain took an early lead on an RBI double making it 1-0 in the first inning. They continued to build their lead, scoring four more runs in the second inning due to a combination of hits and an error, stretching the score to 5-0.
The Night Hawks showed resilience in the third inning.
Ava Nunez singled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by
Baileigh Herrera. However, Blue Mountain quickly countered, adding another run to maintain a comfortable 6-1 lead. Thomas kept battling in the fourth inning as
Joslyn Barrs and Nunez both scored on a double by Nunez, but Blue Mountain responded with three more runs, extending their lead to 9-3. In the fifth, Blue Mountain sealed the game with three additional runs, concluding the match at 12-3.
Maggie Stubbs pitched one inning, allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run, recording a WHIP of 2.00.
Kinley Libby took the mound for 2 innings.
Ava Nunez led the Night Hawks offensively with two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.

Baileigh Herrera also contributed, with Herrera driving in a run with a sacrifice fly and pitching 2 innings while striking out three.
Game 2: Thomas 0, BMCU 8
In the second game, the Night Hawks struggled to generate offense. Blue Mountain Christian (25-5-1, 7-3) capitalized early, scoring five runs in the first inning.
The fourth inning saw Blue Mountain extend its lead with a single and a double that brought the score to 6-0. In the fifth inning, two more runs were added sealing the game at 8-0.
Despite the loss,
Maggie Stubbs made a notable relief appearance, pitching one inning without allowing a hit and only one walk.
The Night Hawks will look to bounce back as they prepare for their next matchup against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Thursday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at Armory Field in Thomasville, Georgia.
