Thomas cruises past ABAC on Senior Day

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Thomas Night Hawks dominated from the start, securing a 77-52 victory over ABAC Fillies on Saturday afternoon at TU Gymnasium.
Jasmyn Studamire led the Night Hawks with a game-high 27 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out late in the contest. Destiny Hill contributed across the board with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and eight steals, while Aaliyah Ringold added 14 points and four assists. Studamire, Hill and Ringold were all honored after the game for Senior Day

Thomas set the tone early with a 23-12 first quarter and never looked back, extending the lead to 45-19 at halftime. The Night Hawks built their largest lead of 28 points midway through the third quarter before coasting to the win.

Abraham Baldwin struggled offensively, shooting just 30.8 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from beyond the arc. Shakiria Chaney led the Fillies with 19 points and 12 rebounds, but the team was hampered by 21 turnovers.

Thomas outmuscled Abraham Baldwin on the glass with a 62-36 rebounding edge and scored 34 points in the paint. The Night Hawks also forced 14 steals, turning defensive pressure into transition opportunities.

The victory secured the Night Hawks' spot as the tenth seed in the SSAC Conference Championship tournament, Thomas will take on seventh seed Faulkner on Wednesday, February 26th at 12:30 CST / 1:30 EST.
