Night Hawks' Comeback bid falls short against Royals

THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Thomas University closed out its slate of home gaes with a hard-fought 35–27 loss to Warner (FL) on Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium, despite a balanced offensive attack and a late fourth-quarter push.

Quarterback Quentavious Hunter led the Night Hawks with 258 passing yards and two touchdowns, including a 62-yard strike to Javyonn Waters in the first quarter and a 13-yard connection with Tre Woodson in the third. Hunter also added a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter, capping an 80-yard drive that brought Thomas within eight points with 5:38 remaining.

Thomas out gained Warner through the air and matched them in first downs (26), but three lost fumbles proved costly. The Night Hawks' defense, led by Thomas Williams with 11 total tackles and a quarterback hurry, held Warner scoreless in the final quarter but couldn't overcome a 14-point third-quarter surge by the Royals.

Waters finished with 74 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Woodson added nine catches for 86 yards. On the ground, Nashaun Pryor paced the rushing attack with 60 yards on 11 carries.

The Night Hawks travel to Babson Park next Saturday to face the Webber International Warriors in their final game of the season.
