BABSON PARK, Fla. — Thomas University ended its season on the road Saturday against Webber International.
The Night Hawks managed 174 yards on 57 plays but were undone by penalties and turnovers.
Quentavious Hunter completed 11 passes for 97 yards and added 17 rushing yards, connecting with Everett Byrd, Tre Woodson and Aaron Wilson to move the chains. Byrd caught two passes for 26 yards, while Woodson added three receptions for 22 yards. Thomas reached the red zone twice but came away empty, including one drive that ended in an interception.
On the ground, Cecil Crawford provided a spark with 20 rushing yards on four carries, while Shaun Pryor added 23 yards. The Night Hawks finished with 77 rushing yards overall, averaging just 2.6 yards per carry against a stout Webber front.
Defensively, linebacker Cameron Thomas led the effort with 14 tackles, including nine solo stops. Tq Strozier added eight tackles, and Thomas Williams and Tre Williams each contributed six. Jabari Williams forced and recovered a fumble in the first quarter, one of the few moments that slowed Webber's momentum. Kendall Hinton chipped in five tackles, including two for loss.
Thomas Williams' six tackles helped him reach the century mark with 100 tackles on the season.
Special teams did well with Wyatt Waddell averaging 34.1 yards on seven punts, including a 55-yarder that flipped field position. Tre Williams returned two kickoffs for 43 yards, while Timothy Moses added 35 yards on two returns.
The Warriors built a 40-0 halftime lead and never looked back, adding three more touchdowns in the second half.
Despite the tough season, the Night Hawks showed flashes of competitiveness throughout the season in Head coach Vincent Davis' first season at the helm.
