Slow second half dooms Thomas against No.13 Dalton State

DALTON, Ga. – The Night Hawks went on the road to face No.13 Dalton State Roadrunners in another critical SSAC east division matchup on Thursday night
 
The Roadrunners came out hitting shots early as they jumped out to a early double-digit lead, however, a mid-range shot from Deonta Jones and a three from Armani Thomas put the Night Hawks within five with 9:06 to go in the half. Later on, another jumper from Jones and shot from Jailin Lee lowered the deficit to just three, after both teams traded buckets, Joshua Robertson drained a jumper to make it a one possession game. With 1:59 left, Ja'Vian Baker knocked down a shot from the mid-range to tie the game at 29, after a back-and-forth the Night Hawks ended the half only down by four.
 
In the second half, The Roadrunners came out on a 18-4 run, which Thomas could not overcome, and Dalton State went to hold the lead to end the game.
 
Armani Thomas was the leading scorer for the Night Hawks with 16 points, going 4-6 from three he also had three steals as well. Deonta Jones finished with 14 points, four assists and three steals of his own.
 
The Night Hawks will continue their three game road trip, taking on Life University for the second time in 10 days on Saturday, January 18th at 2:00PM.
