COLUMBUS, Ga. – The game got away from Thomas early as the Night Hawks dropped the contest 35-0 Saturday afternoon to the No. 7 Bethel Wildcats.
Jordan Cason opened the scoring for the Wildcats in the beginning of the first quarter with 13:29 remaining. The Wildcats tacked on another score as time expired in the 1
st quarter to bring the score to 14-0.
The Night Hawk defense held off the Wildcat offense for the entirety of the 2
nd quarter and sent the game to half with the same 14-0 score.
The Wildcats tacked on two more scores in the 3
rd quarter and added on a last-minute score in the 4
th
Bethel only attempted to pass three times and relied largely on the run game. The Wildcats totaled 403 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns on 59 attempts. The Night Hawks totaled 118 yards of offense from both the pass and run game.
Thomas hosts first time foe Union Commonwealth University next Saturday at 4 p.m. for the last contest before SUN conference play
