THOMASVILLE, Ga. – An exciting first half filled with an offensive onslaught followed by a second half with much of the same led the Night Hawks to their first winning result of the season against former conference foe Warner on Saturday afternoon at TU Soccer Complex.
Will Nye opened the scoring with right footed rocket from a cross off the boot of
Stanley Hooker in the 18
th minute. Ten minutes later
Camilo Penafiel found the goal in the 28
th after a well-placed pass down the middle from
Connor Parry. Just over three minutes from the last goal. Nye and Hooker connected again in the 31
st minute to bring the score to 3-0 and give Nye the first brace of the season.
The second half contained much of the same.
Santiago Viel found the back of the net off of a left footed free kick just outside the box in the 58
th minute.
Edward Sack found
Findlay Cook who dealt the final blow after low drive toward right goal post found the corner of the net.
Jorge Gonzalez played all 90 minutes and recorded one save for his seventh career clean sheet.
The Night Hawks take the pitch against Bethel on Thursday, August 29th for their first matchup since 2019. Kickoff is set for 6:00 at Walter Butler Stadium in McKenzie, Tenn.
