Night Hawks Soar to Record Setting Seventh Straight Victory

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Night Hawks, riding a five-game win streak, headed to Trinity Baptist College for a doubleheader against the Eagles, eager to extend their dominance on the diamond. Trinity Baptist entered the contest fresh off a weekend at home against Paine College, where they secured one victory out of three games. Meanwhile, TU swept the series against the Talladega Tornadoes, claiming victory in all three match-ups.

GAME ONE

The Night Hawks would get on the board first in the top of the second inning after a bases loaded walk would score Bryce Bitting an RBI single from Hunter Kern would score Max Pickert and Riley Borgert due to an error by the defense to give TU a 3 - 0 lead. In the top of the third inning errors would continue to haunt the Eagles as TU would pour on the runs plating nine, the scoring started after an error allowed Bitting to steal home, Cameron Rosario singled down the first base line to score two runs, Kern reached first base on an overthrown ball to plate two more runs, Kason Buie hit a SAC fly to right field to bring in a run, and Bitting would hit a three-run homerun to extend the Night Hawks lead to 12 - 0 after three.
 
In the fourth inning the Night Hawks would continue their dominance at the plate by scoring six more runs. Turner Maddox and Matthew Williams both singled to bring in a pair of runs and extend the lead to 18 - 0. In the top of the seventh inning, Cameron Tyson blasted a three-run homerun over the left field wall to add onto the Night Hawks victory by a score of 21 - 0.
 
LHP Eddie Camolilla earned the win for the Nights Hawks after throwing 4.0 innings, allowing three hits, zero runs, and seven strikeouts.  Senior Bryce Bitting would go 3-for-5 on the day at Designated Hitter with two doubles, an RBI single, and a three RBI home run.  Junior Matthew Williams would go 4-for-6 at the plate with four singles and plated one RBI.
 
The Night Hawks victory in game one of the doubleheader not only ties the longest win streak in school history but also represents the best start to a season the Night Hawks have ever had.

Game Two

After the Night Hawks impressive 21-0 victory in game one against the Trinity Baptist Eagles, TU was determined to carry over their strong offensive performance into game two.
 
The Night Hawks would strike first in game two after a single back to the pitcher by Kason Buie forced an error to score the first run of the game, Easton Willis and Gabe Tafelski singled in back to back at bats to each plate a run and give TU a 3 - 0 lead after the first inning. In the second inning Elias Garcia reached on an error to plate a run, Turner Maddox would hit an RBI single to extend the TU lead to 5 - 0 after two innings. The Night Hawks would score another run in the third inning after a fielder's choice from Brayden Lawhon. Cameron Tyson would single in the top of the fourth inning to bring the score to 7 - 0.
 
Trinity Baptist would get on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning after a two RBI single would cut the TU lead to 7 - 2. The Night Hawks would take no time to strike back as Elias Garcia hit a RBI line drive single into center field, back to back walks with the bases loaded by Trey Larkin and Tyson would plate two more runs, and Jeremy Santiago would score the final run of the inning after the ball went through the catcher's glove to the backstop to help secure the Night Hawks 11 - 2 victory.
 
RHP Jaxon Smith would earn the win for the Night Hawks in game two as he went 4.0 innings, with three hits, zero runs, and three strikeouts.  Senior Kason Buie went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and an RBI single.  Junior Turner Maddox went 2-for-4 at the plate with two singles and an RBI.
