MT. VERNON, Ga. – The Thomas University baseball team downed Brewton-Parker College 17-10 Tuesday afternoon.

The Night Hawks collected 19 hits, including eight extra-base hits, to the Barons' 12.

Jean Pool Checo and
Nick Talpa each hit a 2-run homer and
Luis Rodriguez-Gallo connected on a pair of doubles, one of five guys to hit six two-baggers.

Cam Williams went 5-for-6 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored. Checo collected five RBI from three hits and
Josh Johnson went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI.

The Night Hawks took a 6-0 lead after two innings, then BPC scored one in the bottom of the third. TU plated one run in each of the next four innings, holding a 10-6 edge after BPC scored five in the sixth.

More fireworks ensued in the final two frames as Thomas scored five in the eighth and two in the ninth. Brewton-Parker put up four in the bottom of the ninth, but came up short, 17-10.

Bradley Peacock started the game on the hill, striking out three and allowing just one run from three hits in 4.0 innings.
Logan Knight (1H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 0K) came in for 1.0 inning of relief, followed by 2.0 innings from
Savian Loor (4H, 3R, 1ER, 1BB, 1K).Â
Brandon Steele (0H, 0R, 1BB) and
Zachary Buelk (4H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB) each tossed 1.0 inning to take home the win.

Thomas is back in action this Friday at the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale, Fla. TU faces Kansas Christian in a double header beginning at 3:45 p.m. Friday.
