Thomasville, Ga- The Thomas University (2-10, 1-4 SSAC) women's basketball team hosted Point University (6-5, 2-2) on Saturday afternoon.
In the first quarter, the Skyhawks would take an early 5-0 lead. Thomas would then settle in and get on the board shortly after. However, Point would go on to outscore the Night Hawks 17-10 in the first quarter. The second quarter would be all Point. The Skyhawks would outscore Thomas by 17 to take a 41-17 lead heading into the break.
The third quarter would play out much like the first. Both teams would put together a string of stops and a couple scores. Thomas would end up losing the quarter by four. In the fourth, Thomas would put together their best quarter of the game, scoring 16 points. As a team in the fourth, Thomas shot 43% from the field and 100% from the free throw line.
Tara Llorente would grab a career high 12 rebounds and tally 2 steals. Tieraney Bolton would score 12 points as she shot 5-8 (63%) from the field. Destiny Hill would record 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, and rack up 3 steals.
NEXT UP: Thomas will wrap up the first half of their season by facing New College of Florida on December, 19th at the TU Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM.
