Night Hawks Fall to Mobile

Thomas receives superlatives from SSAC

Montgomery, AL | Thomas fell to Mobile, 1-0, in the SSAC tournament in Montgomery, AL.  The loss is the first defeat for the Night Hawks since September 28.  The loss drops the Night Hawks' record to 10-4-4.

The Rams and the Night Hawks, two of the top defensive teams in the conference, battled throughout the first half.  Neither team was able to muster a goal.  Each team had two of their shots being on-goal.  Thomas took a total of four attempts, and Mobile took a total of six attempts, in the first half.

The nin-nil draw at the half was the third scoreless half for these two teams this season.  The second half was more of the same for the two teams, with both teams focussing on their defense.

In the 84th minute, Mobile would take a free kick in Thomas territory, and head the ball in for the score.  With Thomas trailing, the Night Hawks would attempt to turn up the offense, but were not able to get a shot on goal in the final minutes of the match.

Thomas will now await the announcement of the NAIA at-large selections.  The announcement will be made on Monday.
