Night Hawks Unable to Duplicate Win

Lose to Webber International 28-10

Babson Park, FL | Thomas traveled South to face Webber International, in Sun Conference play, and could not duplicate the success that the Night Hawks saw at home. The Night Hawks fell to the Warriors, 28-10.

The Warriors scored on their first possession of the game, taking just one offensive play to go 58 yards in 00:09.  

Both teams would settle in, after that point, with both defenses playing tough.  Fabian Yarbrough would intercept a pass on the next Webber International drive, but the Night Hawks were unable to capitalize. Midway through the second quarter, the Warriors would put together a five play, 31-yard drive to score another touchdown and increase their lead to 14-0.

The Night Hawks would get on the scoreboard before the end of the half.  Thomas would drive 63 yards, in 12 plays, for the score.  Charles Britt would hit Tremal Hall with a 20-yard pass for the score Wyatt Waddell PAT), cutting the Webber International lead in half.

Thomas would add a field goal at the end of the third quarter, to dig further into the Warrior lead, 14-10.  The field goal capped off 14-play, 67-yard rive that ate 9:24 of clock time.

In the fourth quarter, the Warriors would put together drive of 71 yards (10 plays) and 54 yards (4 plays) to close out the scoring, and set the final score at 28-10, in favor of Webber International.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Thomas earned 16 first downs while giving up 12 first downs.
  • Webber International only out-gained the Night Hawks by 21yards:  294 to 273.
  • Thomas ran 63 plays, opposed to Webber International who ran 48 plays.
  • Thomas was 2/2 in the red zone, scoring a touchdown and a field goal.
  • Thomas was 2/2 on 4th down conversions.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES

  • Charles Britt, making his second consecutive start, accounted for 203 yards of offense for Thomas.
  • Two Night Hawks totaled over 50 yards receiving:  Brandon Denmark (5 catches, 55 yards), and Tremal Hall (3 catches, 50 yards, 1 touchdown).
  • Nehemiah Mack led Thomas in tackles with 9.5 (5 solo, 3 assists, 1.5 tackles-for-loss).
  • Fabian Yarbrough picked up his second interception of the season.
  • Marcus Dennis record two sacks, totaling 15 yards.
