Thomas Defeats Faulkner at Home

Night Hawks defeat Eagles 5-2

Thomasville, GA | Thomas defeated Faulkner, 5-2, in SSAC action.  The victory raises the Night Hawks record 8-5-1 (3-2-1 SSAC), while the loss drops the Eagles to 2-6-2 (0-5-1 SSAC).

The Night Hawks got on the scoreboard early in the match on a goal by Ali Baca (Pearl Mortimer assist) at the 2:20 mark of the first half.  Faulkner answered a few moments later at the 10:26 mark.

Mortimer scored a goal of her own at 31:01, off of a pass by Kaitlyn Herb.  Mortimer then picked up her fourth point of the day when she set up Ali Baca at 42:39.  Thomas took a 3-1 lead into halftime.

At the 60:54 mark, McKenna Swartzman got on the scoreboard for Thomas, with an assist from Baca.  Sasha Manders was on the receiving in of another Mortimer pass, knocking the ball home at 68:32, to give Thomas a 5-1 lead.  Faulkner would add a score at 70:51 to bring the final score to 5-2, in favor of the Night Hawks.

On the day, Baca totaled five points (two goals, one assist) and Mortimer also tallied five points (one goal, three assists).  The Thomas defense held Faulkner to only seven shots total (six on goal).
