THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University women's basketball team took Warner University to overtime Thursday night in Sun Conference action, but the Night Hawks ultimately fell, 71-67, at the TU Gymnasium.

After falling behind by two after the first quarter, Thomas recovered to take the 25-24 lead at the half. TU outscored Warner 18-13 in the third quarter, but the Royals roared back to tie the game at 61 at the end of regulation.

The game was tied at 48 with seven minutes to go, then Thomas went up by as many as eight with 3:30 to play in regulation. Warner had a three-point play, then hit a trey with two minutes left to draw the score within two. Â TU went 1-for-2 at the line to go up, 61-58, with 1:30 to play, then Warner hit a 3-pointer with 51 seconds to tie the game and send it into overtime. The game was tied twice in OT, but Thomas never held the lead, falling 71-67.

The Night Hawks hit 41.4 percent (24-58) from the field, and went 18-of-21 (85.7%) from the line, but only knocked down one 3-pointer on the night.

Dejah Wilson recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 boards. In early December against Florida Memorial, she had 11 and 11.

Jade Studamire put up 19 points, draining all six of her charity shots, and pulled down eight boards.
Lenise Santiago added 17 points, five assists and four rebounds while
Mahogany Menefee posted 13 points, six steals and three boards.

Thomas falls to 1-13 on the season and 0-6 in Sun Conference play.

TU next travels to Babson Park, Fla., to face Sun Conference opponent Webber International on Jan. 7 at 2 p.m.
