THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The Thomas University softball team will host its final series of the 2022 campaign this upcoming weekend, with a doubleheader scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., while Saturday's 12 p.m. contest will be followed with Senior Day festivities.
The Night Hawks (24-19, 11-13 SUN) will host the Lions from Florida Memorial (2-28, 1-23 SUN) in the season finale, with Thomas entering the series as the five-seed in the SUN Tournament race.
Thomas will search for a series sweep against the last place Lions, as a series sweep could guarantee a spot in next week's tournament.
TU's pitching staff is headlined by Larran Carter, who has led the Night Hawks to a perfect 4-0 record in her last four appearances. Additionally, the senior has found rhythm inside the circle, allowing just one earned run per game, throughout the stretch.
The Night Hawks' bats have also improved as of late, with infielders Dara Moore and Adreanna Killingsworth combining for 10 RBI in the team's last series.
Killingsworth's three-run home run highlighted the series win over USCB, as it fueled the Night Hawks in game one, 4-1.
Florida Memorial travels to the Rose City in search of its first series win of the 2022 season. The Lions won its first game in SUN play against Warner on April 16th, in a 4-2 upset over the Royals.
FMU is led Pedro Herrera, who is serving as the team's first Head Coach in the Lions' inaugural season.
The weekend schedule is set to begin on Friday, while Saturday's start is set for noon. Fans unable to attend can access the contests with the links provided below.
