THOMASVILLE, GA. — The Thomas University softball team will look to pick up another series win this week, traveling to Lake Wales, Fla. to play Warner University.
The Night Hawks (20-17, 7-11 SUN) will look to get back on track in the weekday series, as TU enters the series chasing the final playoff spot in the SUN Conference.
Most recently, the Night Hawks lost all three games over the weekend to Keiser, as the Seahawks capitalized on their hits, scoring 12 runs on 20 hits. Meanwhile, Thomas' 24 hits produced six runs in the series upset.
The TU pitching staff is headlined by the upperclassmen duo of Larran Carter and Leanne Lain.
Inside the batter's box, Warner's batting average sits at .254, while TU's .271 mark puts them seventh in the SUN Conference.
Continuing to dominate for the Night Hawks, Adreanna Killingsworth's .402 batting average puts the junior just outside the top five (6th) in the SUN Conference. AK's 30 RBI still leads the team while remaining within the top ten. conference-wide.
The SUN Conference series is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, with Tuesday's single game slated for 5 p.m. On Wednesday, the doubleheader begins at 1 p.m, with game two listed for a start time of 3 p.m.
