THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball team struggled to score from the field Thursday night, as the Night Hawks could not handle an onslaught of scoring offense from Warner, falling 86-54 to the Royals at TU Gymnasium.
TU (10-14, 4-10 SUN) shot under 27% from the floor and 26.1% long range. The Royals (16-10, 10-4 SUN), on the other hand, excelled from the floor with a 47.7% conversion rate and were 15-for-31 (48.4%) from outside the perimeter.
Despite the game result, Sophomore Guard
Deonta Jones hit a new career-high with 16 points, shooting 53.8% from the court, along with six boards and three steals.
The Green & White exchanged the first baskets with WU but could not keep up with the Royals beyond the first 68 seconds of play.
