LAKELAND, Fla – The Thomas University Night Hawks defeated the Southeastern University Fire 82-74 Saturday afternoon at The Furnace. With the victory, Thomas improved to 2-0 in the Sun Conference and 5-2 overall.

Thomas went 32-of-66 from the field to hit 48.5 percent of its shots. The Night Hawks also hit 38.5 percent (10-26) from long range and 80 percent (8-10) at the line. TU's defense forced the Fire into 15 turnovers.

Despite falling behind, 42-35, at the half, TU outscored Southeastern 47-32 in the second stanza to earn the 82-74 victory.

Tim Williamson loaded his stat line with 24 points, seven rebounds, four assist and three steals.
Mohammed Abubakar posted 12 points and eight boards, while
Toriano Lewis and
Jarvis Brown each added 12 points apiece.
Jordan Booker recorded a team-high five assists and swiped three steals.

The Night Hawks open a four-game homestand Nov. 22, facing Trinity Baptist College at 6 p.m. in TU Gymnasium. TU then competes against Florida Memorial (Dec. 1), St. Thomas (Dec. 3) and Florida Tech (Dec. 4).
